BOARD OF DIRECTORS

President

A. Lyn Barnett, AICP

General Member Representative of CA

Lyn has observed where families are finding it difficult to make it up here in Tahoe. He believes there has been a failure of government in watching over the people, which is evidenced by school closures as a result of the flight of people from the community. Lyn had helped in the opening of Saint Theresa School, and the building of the new church and felt there was a void.  He felt something needed to be done in addition for the community, and Saint Joseph Community Land Trust took shape.

Vice President

Patrick Conway

Supporting Member Representative of CA

Patrick Conway along with Lyn Barnett saw the need for there to be a voice for the people. He is excited to see the Sierra Garden Apartments becoming a Land Trust Project. Patrick likes that the Land Trusts, Life Skill Program educates people and helps them get out of the mode of thinking "I can’t do it".

Secretary

Frances P. Alling

General Member Representative of NV

Francie went to the residences of families through her work, and seeing the conditions realized the need for providing better places to live.

Treasurer

Yvonne Cohns

Lessee Representative of CA

Yvonne Cohns is our first Lessee Representative as a resident of the Sierra Garden Apartments for the past 22 years.

Rev. Richard L. DeMolen

Lessee Representative of NV

Fr. DeMolen recognizes the need to reach out and help others. He believes it is critical to do something on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe to provide affordable housing.

Rev. John K. Bain

Supporting Member Representative of NV

Rev. Bain witnessed the living conditions of families here in Tahoe and felt that something had to be done to help the poor.  After viewing what has been done elsewhere by other Land Trust organizations, he is hopeful that Saint Joseph Community Land Trust can be of help to the residents of Tahoe.

__________

Chaplain

Rev. Msgr. Murrough C. Wallace

Msgr. Wallace has been into the homes of parishioners and he was moved by the living conditions he came across to become part of the land trust. He looks forward to getting hands on an actual facility and being able to actually turn the key to a project. The commitment from El Dorado Savings made him believe in the possibilities of the Land Trust.

_________

Cindy Hannah

Executive Director

Cindy believes in the Community Land Trust Model that addresses attainable housing needs in the Lake Tahoe Region.
