Saint Joseph Community Land Trust

Five Year Strategic Plan

Saint Joseph Community Land Trust’s Five Year Strategic Plan is intended to provide clear guidance for the organization and for staff, but be flexible enough to allow the organization to respond to changing conditions and opportunities.  Each year, the plan will be reviewed to ensure progress is made, and to confirm the priorities for the coming year.

This strategic plan has been developed through a multi-step process.

1)  Saint Joseph Community Land Trust board members decided to develop a five year plan. It was determined that the plan should focus on four key topics – Housing Development Criteria, Financial Viability, Partnering with Others, and Presence and Membership.

2)  A community meeting allowed members of the community and stakeholders to provide input on the four key topics.

3) The board and steering committee reviewed the community input and selected priorities to be included in the strategic five year work plan for Saint Joseph Community Land Trust.

4) The plan was presented to the membership for edits and additions.

5) The plan was adopted at the annual meeting on May 2nd, 2008.

6) The Board of Directors assigned responsibilities and due dates on May 29, 2008.

This Strategic Plan was developed with financial support from:

Charles Schwab Bank

Rural Community Assistance Corporation provided technical support.
